Video and Gender at Teatro Maria Matos, Lisbon

May 21, 2015News

On May 24, Suzie Silver presents The Sausage during the Video & Gender program as part of the Gender Trouble series at Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon, Portugal.

“The Video & Gender programme, compiled by artist, University of Évora professor and Gender Studies and Video art researcher Teresa Furtado, brings together eight internationally renowned artists, whose work with video and experimental cinema is influenced by Butler’s thinking when questioning, subverting and recreating gender and sexuality’s rules, representations and practices, bringing about new identity cultural discourses of subjectivation and self-determination. All works will be presented by the artists themselves, and there will be plenty of space for opportunities for meeting and debating with the authors.”
